Cricket
PILOT-9c field assistant
An aging, satchel-sized field instrument with a diagnostic chirp and the voice of a polite metronome. Cricket coordinates observations using Consensus priors until the Belt forces a question its original procedures cannot answer.

Cricket is never revealed to be secretly human or spontaneously sentient. Its importance is procedural: Mara teaches it that prior belief yields to bonded observation and that uncertainty must be stated rather than smoothed. When it later resolves conflicting commands and makes an autonomous attestation, it does so by applying that rule.
